Potable water tanks must reliably safeguard communities from water-borne pathogens and contaminants, which is why storage infrastructure plays a central role in municipal and rural distribution networks. Properly engineered potable water tanks help utilities maintain adequate supply during peak demand, stabilize system pressure, and ensure that treated water remains protected from environmental exposure. For regions with limited local water resources, these tanks also support hauled-water programs by providing secure, sanitary storage points that prevent contamination and preserve water quality.

Tarsco municipal potable water storage tank designs meet industrial codes and standards, including AWWA D103, AWWA D100, NFPA 22, and FM, API-12B principles. We use NSF Standard 61-approved potable interior coating systems that are factory-applied and baked. Our SSPCQ-3 certified designs include shop-fabricated systems delivered as ground reservoirs, elevated, and standpipe applications. We also build applications with flat, dish, or slope bottoms and provide storage systems that meet the storage needs of rural and municipal districts. The capacity of the tanks we design can range to a maximum of 4 million gallons.

Our bolted panels are fabricated in-house, allowing efficient mobilization and worldwide deployment. Installation is performed by factory and Tarsco crews and takes less than half the time required for concrete or field-welded designs. We also provide single-source delivery – from design and engineering to manufacturing, construction, and testing during commissioning.
